I met Kat during my first year in Australia. She was studying at the same university as me and we had friends in common. We had the opportunity to shoot together multiple times and did a few great images together.
Before coming to Australia for the first time, I had a very narrow view of what an ‘Australian’ was. I put it in quotes because I now know Australia is a multi-cultural place with people from all backgrounds. But, back then I didn’t know better. And Kat fit perfectly with what I imagined an Australian would look like.
